Job Overview
Sukoon Cares is an online mental health platform offering culturally adapted therapy for the South Asian diaspora across Canada. We’re looking for licensed psychotherapists, clinical counsellors, or social workers who are eligible to provide virtual couples therapy in Ontario.
This role is ideal for therapists who are passionate about helping couples navigate communication challenges, conflict, emotional disconnection, intimacy concerns, family pressures, intergenerational dynamics, in-law boundaries, major life transitions, and cross-cultural relationship stressors.
We especially welcome therapists from South Asian backgrounds who can connect with clients in languages beyond English, such as Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, or Gujarati. The ability to bridge cultural and linguistic gaps in relationship care is highly valued.
Preference will be given to therapists who are available during evenings and/or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy sessions tailored to clients’ needs, including couples and families.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and outcome tracking.
- Work flexibly and autonomously in a supportive, virtual care environment.
- Deliver culturally adapted care, integrating clients’ cultural identities, values, and languages into the therapeutic process.
- Track and analyze client progress and outcomes using evidence-based methods and digital tools.
- Participate in peer consultations, training, and continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in culturally adapted therapy.
- Engage clients with warmth, professionalism, and empathy, helping them feel seen, understood, and supported throughout their care journey.
Requirements
- Current registration, licensure, or professional membership that permits independent practice in Ontario.
- Registration or authorization to provide services in Alberta and/or British Columbia is a strong asset.
- Examples may include CRPO, OCSWSSW, CPO, ACSW, CAP, BCACC/RCC, CCPA/CCC, BCCSW, CPBC, ACTA, or equivalent regulatory/professional bodies.
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
- Experience in culturally adapted or community-focused therapy.
- Fluency in one or more South Asian languages (e.g., Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, etc.) is a strong asset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in virtual care environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to culturally competent and inclusive mental health care.
