As a Collections Paralegal, supporting our Billing and Risk team you play a vital role. You will be responsible providing legal and administrative support, ensuring compliance, and assisting in the management of billing and risk-related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Your key responsibilities will be the following:
- Draft, prepare, and proofread correspondence, documents, forms and legal court documents. And ensure accurate and timely court filings of claims.
- Prepare releases, consents, orders, and settlement notices.
- Maintain organized physical and electronic files.
- Perform other assigned legal and administrative tasks.
- Preparation and filing of SOC
- Preparing legal documents related to debt collection, including demand letters
- Preparing case files and evidence
- Assist the Risk Manager with various tasks as needed, including contract review, legal research and administrative support.
- Communicate and collaborate with regional personnel to clarify customer issues as needed.
- Manage portfolio of delinquent customers in Canada.
To be successful you’ll need to have the following skills and abilities:
- Degree or diploma in Paralegal Studies.
- Licensed P1 Paralegal in good standing.
- 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a debt collection practice
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of small claims court process and debtor, creditor rights.
- Excellent computer skills with intermediate proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot, VLOOPUP, fundamental functions).
- Logistics or supply chain industry experience (asset).
- Bilingual (French and English) is considered an asset.
