Askew’s Armstrong is looking for a new team member to join our Full-Time Deli Clerk. Ideal candidate is available all days, all shifts and has reliable transportation to and from the location.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions about products like cheeses and meats, offer samples, and make recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.
- Slice deli meats and cheeses safely using commercial slicers, weigh, package, price items, and prepare sandwiches, salads, platters, or special orders.
- Stock and rotate display cases, unload deliveries, and maintain fresh, organized shelves while following food safety and sanitation standards.
- Clean workstations, equipment, and the deli area, including slicers and prep surfaces, per health regulations.
- Assist with hot/cold food prep, inventory checks, and general cleanliness.
Requirements
- Previous deli, grocery, or food service experience preferred; training provided for equipment like slicers, fryers, and ovens.
- Availability for full-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; physically able to lift 25-50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Team player eager to learn about artisanal products in a fast-paced, independent store setting.
