Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse distribution operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed. The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse functions and ensuring accurate order picking and inventory management within our warehouse management system.
Responsibilities:
· Deliver high level of customer service as customer enter our facility
· Receive material and separate by grade and type from both the public and industrial customers.
· Manual sorting of materials to upgrade materials and prepare for final processing.
· Take apart machinery and equipment, stripping wire, using the shear as required to extract clean metal materials for recycling.
· Use a counterbalance forklift to load/unload trucks and to move materials around the facility
· Maintain a clean facility, ensuring no metal scraps are on the floor around bins, at drive in doors, etc
· General help as required around the plant
Qualifications:
· Must have experience in scrap metal recycling.
· Knowledge of different grade of non-ferrous metals, including copper, brass, stainless steel, aluminum and wires.
· Demonstrate attention to details
· Ability to withstand dirty environment with hot/cold temperatures
· Valid Forklift license
· Health & Safety certification (Can be completed on the ministry of labour website)
· Must have safety shoes, all other safety equipment will be provided
· Availability on Saturday mornings
