Position: Excavator Operator - Heavy Equipment Operator
Salary: $42-45hr Depending on Experience
Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta
Currently Seeking up to 10 HEO (5 excavator operators and 5 dozer operators) for various mine sites in the Fort McMurray Oilsands region. These positions would be supporting mine expansion activities at various stages of their lifecycles from removing brush to clear new mine site activity to reclamation/remediation of mine site.
Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators for tasks including loading trucks, trenching, ditching, sloping, and general earthworks
- Perform pre-operational and routine equipment inspections prior to use
- Follow direction from supervisors regarding work areas and daily tasks
- Maintain awareness of ground disturbance requirements and underground utilities
- Operate equipment in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and other operators
- Assist with general site duties as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating excavators in heavy civil construction, earthworks, or mining environments
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and reside in remote camps on a rotational schedule
- CSO certification required
- Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive, and First Aid considered assets
- Physically capable of performing assigned duties
- Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
