Our client, a leading manufacturing organization that specializes in premium kitchen water systems such as sinks, plumbing fixtures and faucets. They are currently looking to hire a Tool and Die Maker on a full-time permanent basis.
This role is a straight Day Shift and comes with Benefits, Paid Time Vacation, RRSP Match in a Unionized working environment. this role is located in Etobicoke, ON.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, assemble, and troubleshoot tools, dies, and fixtures according to engineering drawings and specifications
Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on production tooling and moulds
Inspect moulds for wear, damage, or defects and carry out precision repairs
Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble injection or production moulds
Perform welding, grinding, polishing, and fitting of mould components
Modify existing tooling and moulds to improve performance and extend lifespan
Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve tooling issues
Ensure all tooling meets quality standards and tolerances
Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Certification as a Tool and Die Maker or equivalent (e.g., Red Seal preferred)
Strong understanding of mould construction and repair techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Experience with manual machining (lathe, mill, grinder)
Knowledge of welding techniques (TIG/MIG preferred) for repair work
High attention to detail and precision measurement skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
