Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee our service department and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of Powersports and Marine repair, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, leading a team of technicians, and driving sales through effective upselling techniques.
Responsibilities
- Service writing and communication with customer at time of drop off & pick up.
- Assisting the customer with loading/unloading their unit.
- Counter discussion with the customer to determine if we can/should take their unit in to work on. Pending make, year and condition.
- Ensuring the parts required for repairs are accounted for & organized from the parts department and ready for the technicians.
- When parts need to be ordered, making sure the list gets to the parts person and submitted.
- Verifying we have the appropriate manuals to complete the repairs.
- Ensuring the finished work order is complete:
- All parts used are accounted for on work order.
- All time is accounted for on work order.
- Contacting the customer.
- Be available to explain the work order to the customer should that be requested.
- Warranty Process
- Responsible for submitting & processing all warranty claims with manufacturers.
- Responsible for ensuring that all parts return requests are completed and sent by the parts person.
- Ensuring the parts/service department is kept clean and organized.
- Ensuring technicians are on task and on schedule.
- Must have the ability to adapt to a seasonal work environment.
- The skill to reorganize scheduling in the short term to achieve sales goals or urgent service tasks.
- Invoicing on the computer.
- Working with sales department to quote out accessory jobs on bills of sale. Examples, handlebars, Stage 1, blades, trolling motors, props.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a background an asset
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Experience in cash handling procedures is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales through effective upselling techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
