Keep the Yard Moving
As a Lumber Yard Forklift Operator you will be responsible for unloading, storing, order picking, loading, shipping, and a timely and accurate receipt of all products within the bulk distribution centre. Led by the Supervisor, Kitchener DSC, this position will best suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, has experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in working safely while providing excellent service.
- Please note this is a 6-month term position
Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:
- Operate a forklift with appropriate certifications.

Inspect the forklift and attached equipment to ensure compliance with standards and applicable laws.

Load and unload trucks, transporting the material to appropriate storage areas.
- Work outdoors 80-100% of the time; tolerant of extremes in temperature, inclement weather, dust, and intense noise.

Work in accordance with company policies and procedures on health and safety and loss prevention (i.e., ensure safe and efficient operation of the forklift and that loads are safe for transport).

Maintain cooperative working relationships with Manager and other Team Members in all departments.

Maintain accurate records with established systems and processes.

Additional duties such as physical inventory and cycle counts as required.
We’re looking for:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
-
One to five years of forklift driving experience required.

Safety conscious with proven experience on forklifts, handling heavy or odd size loads.

Attention to detail and accuracy to ensure compliance with TDG requirements.

Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
-
Experience with Oracle and Prism Systems are an asset.

Ability to identify different species of wood and grades of material is an asset.

Strong organization and communication skills for interactions with Manager and Team Members.

Must be able to comprehend business math calculations, spatial comprehension.

Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.

The ability to be onsite 5 days a week at our Kitchener Distribution Centre, to accommodate the needs of the role.
