Andreia's Kitchen & Lounge is seeking a Head Chef to lead in our Toronto Lounge. We're offering a creative platform for a chef who loves to innovate and craft modern comfort food with a twist. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, including cooks and food service personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production
- Oversee all food preparation activities, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures to uphold hygiene standards
- Manage inventory levels, and control food costs to optimize kitchen operations
- Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations
- Collaborate with restaurant management to coordinate service times and special events
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality within the culinary team
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting with strong team management skills
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety practices
- Demonstrated restaurant management experience with the ability to oversee daily kitchen operations effectively
- Deep understanding of the food industry trends, customer service standards, and hospitality principles
- Leadership qualities that motivate staff, foster teamwork, and ensure high performance standards
- Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a professional kitchen environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with staff and management teams
- Passion for culinary arts combined with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
