About the Role
We are seeking an ultra-organized, analytical Product Analyst to own our Bill of Materials (BOM) workflow. This position is critical to our operational efficiency, freeing up design resources to focus on manufacturing innovations. Key Responsibilities:
Bill of Materials Coordination:
- Build complete product BOMs based on engineering and product configuration requirements.
- Maintain accurate BOM information to support procurement, production, and operational efficiency.
- Review BOM structure for completeness, consistency, and alignment with product requirements.
BOM Accuracy & Data Integrity:
- Audit BOM accuracy and identify discrepancies, missing information, or inconsistencies.
- Support correction and follow-up of BOM-related issues.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in product and material data.
Engineering Change Notices:
- Handle Engineering Change Notices related to product configurations and BOM updates.
- Ensure changes are documented, tracked, and communicated to appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Support timely and accurate implementation of approved changes.
Configuration Management:
- Track product configurations and ensure configuration information remains accurate and current.
- Standardize material configurations to support consistency across products and processes.
- Assist in organizing configuration data so it can be clearly understood and used by internal teams.
Procurement Coordination:
- Coordinate with Procurement to support material accuracy, part information, and BOM-related purchasing requirements.
- Help bridge information between Engineering, Procurement, and the shop floor.
- Communicate updates or discrepancies that may affect material planning or production readiness.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records related to BOMs, configurations, engineering changes, and material information.
- Support clear documentation of product configuration standards and BOM workflows.
- Prepare or update reports, spreadsheets, and data summaries as required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a highly analytical field.
- Experience with ERP and/or PLM systems, including identification of small discrepancies in product, material, or configuration data.
Technical skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and comfort navigating data-dense software environments (ERP/PLM).
- Data organization, documentation, and reporting.
- Understanding of production workflows.
Power/human skills:
- Attention to Detail: able to identify discrepancies that could affect BOM accuracy, procurement, or production.
- Analytical Thinking: Understands how product data, material configurations, and BOM structures connect within a larger manufacturing process.
- Organization: Manages detailed information, updates, records, and follow-ups in a structured and reliable way.
- Communication & Collaboration: Shares information clearly and works effectively with various floor teams and departments.
- Process Discipline: Follows established workflows, documentation practices, and change processes to support consistent and accurate configuration management.
- Accountability: able to take ownership of BOM updates, configuration tracking, and assigned actions through to completion.
- Data Integrity Mindset: Understands the importance of accurate product and material data and works carefully to maintain reliable system information.
Remuneration: CA$45,000 to CA$52,000 annually
