The Facility Asset Management Technologist leads the development and implementation of the Division's facility asset management program to support proactive maintenance, lifecycle planning, and long-term infrastructure stewardship. The position establishes asset management processes, asset inventories, preventive maintenance strategies, and lifecycle planning tools that inform maintenance priorities, capital investment decisions, and long-term renewal planning. As the Division's subject matter expert in facility asset management, the role provides technical analysis and recommendations that support effective allocation of maintenance and capital resources across the facility portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Asset Management Program Support (25%)

Develop and implement asset management processes, frameworks, and tools to support proactive maintenance and lifecycle planning.

Establish and maintain comprehensive facility asset inventories across all major building systems and asset classes.

Develop asset classification standards, documentation requirements, and procedures for ongoing asset data management.

Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements to asset management practices and processes.

Develop asset management standards, processes, and decision-support tools to support consistent asset management practices.
Data Collection & System Development (20%)

Design and implement methodologies for collecting, validating, and managing facility asset data.

Lead asset inventory development through coordination with maintenance staff, project teams, contractors, and consultants.

Develop and maintain asset management databases, systems, and reporting tools that support lifecycle planning and decision-making.

Collect and validate data from multiple sources, including record drawings, operations manuals, BMCS control systems, utility information, manufacturer’s information, and physical on-site data directly from equipment rating plates.

Analyze asset information and identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Ensure asset information generated through capital projects is incorporated into Division asset management systems and records.

Act as the Division's subject matter expert in facility asset management and lifecycle planning.

Provide technical advice regarding asset conditions, maintenance strategies, asset performance, and renewal requirements.

Review capital project documentation to ensure maintenance requirements, warranties, manuals, and technical records are complete and appropriate.
