Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laser Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precision welding operations, utilizing advanced laser welding equipment to produce high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of various welding techniques, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes to ensure the production of durable and accurate parts. The Laser Welder will collaborate with engineering and assembly teams to meet project specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate laser welding machinery with precision to join metal components according to blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for accurate fabrication
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, and calipers for setup and adjustments
- Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques as required for different materials and applications
- Conduct rigging, assembly, and mechanical tasks related to component fabrication
- Use calipers and basic math skills to ensure measurements meet specifications
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to proper procedures during welding, machining, and material handling
- Assist in the setup and operation of cranes or forklifts when moving heavy materials or equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on welding machinery
- Follow schematics and technical instructions for complex assembly projects involving ductwork or construction components
Qualifications
- Proven experience with MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and general welding practices in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in rigging, machining, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and assembly processes
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, press brake machines, cranes, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations related to fabrication work
- Knowledge of ductwork construction or similar construction-related tasks is a plus
- Experience with schematics reading and working with blueprints for precise fabrication tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Relevant certifications in welding or manufacturing are preferred but not mandatory
