Responsibilities for Construction Site Supervisor
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of construction workers and subcontractors
- Establish work priorities and ensure project timelines and milestones are met
- Coordinate site activities across architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and finishing trades
- Requisition materials and supplies and monitor delivery schedules
- Inspect work performed to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and building codes
- Resolve work-related issues and recommend measures to improve productivity and efficiency
- Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and company safety policies
- Prepare and maintain site documentation including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection records
- Monitor labour and material usage to assist with cost control
- Participate in project meetings and communicate site updates to management
- Oversee correction of deficiencies and ensure completion of punch-list items prior to project handover
- Willing to travel to project and construction sites in Alberta and Manitoba as needed.
Qualifications for Construction Site Supervisor
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of construction experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead-hand capacity
- Working knowledge of construction scheduling, site coordination, and safety practices
- Ability to supervise multiple trades and subcontractors
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient with software such as Master Builder, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Google Chrome.
- Skilled in writing reports and professional correspondence; strong verbal communication with clients, vendors, and officials.
- Strong reading comprehension of technical documents, safety regulations, and maintenance procedures; able to identify non-compliance and recommend solutions.
- Solid understanding of construction operations and processes; experienced in managing demanding clients and delivering creative solutions.
- Flexible with time, willing to travel across provinces, and committed to ensuring projects are delivered on schedule.
