About the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Operations Technician to support the daily operation of our gas-powered bitcoin mining site in Torrington, Alberta. This is a hands-on site role focused on power generation, electrical distribution, and stable power supply to miners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of generator power output and electrical distribution systems
- Assist with load distribution, grid switching, and low-voltage power system operation
- Inspect and maintain electrical equipment such as control panels, distribution cabinets, UPS, and PDUs
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and support safe power restoration when needed
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other electrical safety requirements
- Monitor and record operating data for generators and miners
- Work with the network technician to support remote miner management
- Work with the mechanical technician on the daily operation and maintenance of generators and miners
What We’re Looking For
- Background in electrical, automation, or a related field
- Familiar with low-voltage power distribution systems and automatic transfer systems
- Able to read electrical schematics and use basic electrical testing tools
- Experience in industrial sites, electrical maintenance, power systems, or data center operations is an asset
- Comfortable working in a hands-on site environment
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to work as part of a small on-site team
