About Our Client:
Our client, a leading insurance company, is hiring an Accounting Associate for a temporary contract role.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with underwriters to review and resolve facultative data issues (missing/incorrect data, certificates).
- Prepare payment requests for reinsurers, secure approvals, and send to shared services for processing.
- Notify reinsurers of payments and maintain accurate settlement records.
- Manage Boiler Inspection and Insurance billing, settlements, and related premium/LOB reclass entries.
- Assist the IFRS 17 team lead with data reconciliation.
- Support journal upload processes and ensure proper accounting entries.
- Perform various ad hoc tasks and projects within the reinsurance accounting function.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Experience with accounting processes, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with underwriters, finance teams, and external reinsurers.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Prior reinsurance or insurance accounting experience is an asset.
