Salvera Immigration is looking for a dependable, organized, and compassionate Immigration Legal Assistant to join our growing team.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to build meaningful experience in Canadian immigration and refugee law while supporting clients who are often navigating difficult and life-changing circumstances.
You will work closely with our Senior Immigration Counsel and immigration team on Refugee Claims, Appeals, Humanitarian and Compassionate applications, and other complex immigration matters.

What You Will Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of Refugee Claims, Refugee Appeals, Humanitarian and Compassionate applications, Admissibility Hearings, Detention Reviews, and related matters.
- Preparing and reviewing immigration forms, client questionnaires, correspondence, submission letters, affidavits, and supporting document packages under supervision.
- Collecting, reviewing, naming, and organizing supporting evidence and IRB disclosure documents.
- Maintaining accurate client files, case notes, deadlines, timelines, and internal progress reports.
- Following up with clients regarding missing information, documents, signatures, appointments, and approaching deadlines.
- Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients by telephone, email, and during in-person appointments.
- Assisting with correspondence involving IRCC, the Immigration and Refugee Board, CBSA, and other organizations.
- Scheduling consultations, appointments, meetings, and client follow-ups.
- Providing general administrative and office support when required.
- Protecting client confidentiality and following the firm’s professional and internal procedures.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Canadian immigration firm, law office, legal clinic, or professional office is preferred.
- Experience with refugee claims, IRB matters, immigration appeals, or H&C applications is a strong asset.
- A diploma or certificate in Legal Administration, Law Clerk, Paralegal, Immigration Case Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic document management.
- Ability to prepare professional correspondence and accurately complete detailed forms.
- Fluency in another language is an asset.
Recent graduates with strong administrative skills and a genuine interest in immigration and refugee law are encouraged to apply.

- Compensation of $20 –$25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- A full-time weekday schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Important Role Limitation
The Legal Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed RCIC-IRB and/or a Paralegal licensed by the Law Society of Ontario.
The Legal Assistant is not authorized to independently provide legal or immigration advice, assess eligibility, recommend immigration strategies, or represent clients.
