Job Summary
The Hay Lakes ECS is looking for a Kindergarten Teacher who will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children of all abilities. The role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. The teacher will collaborate with the educational assistant, communicate effectively with parents, and support the overall growth of each student to ensure a positive early childhood education experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with the Alberta Government Curriculum and Programs of study, focusing on foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social development
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of children, including those with disabilities or special needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning
- Assess individual student progress regularly and communicate findings to parents and guardians
- Collaborate with educational assistant(s) to support students requiring additional assistance
- Incorporate engaging activities such as sensory opportunities or hands-on projects to enhance learning outcomes
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
- Use effective communication skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- A passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
