Descartes Academy is an established after-school learning centre offering small-group classes and one-on-one support for students of all ages. We value a positive learning environment, teamwork, and educators who are committed to helping students succeed.
Responsibilities
- Teach small-group classes of up to 6 students in a safe, positive, and well-organized learning environment.
- Deliver lessons in accordance with the Descartes Academy curriculum.
- Administer and evaluate assignments, quizzes, and tests (will be provided by Descartes Academy) to monitor student progress.
- Provide academic support and address learning or classroom behavior concerns as needed.
- Prepare clear and constructive progress reports for students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university (required).
- For Mathematics instructors, completion of post-secondary mathematics courses is required.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is needed must be familiar with Ontario curriculum
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an asset, but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for helping students succeed and creating a positive learning environment.
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
