Job description:
Braefoot Community Association is looking for an Inclusion Worker to work directly with children with behaviour difficulties, disabilities, and additional support needs in our Summer Camp Programs. We are looking for someone who can work alongside our program leader to provide an inclusive and positive environment for all kids, and fill in when the leader is unavailable/absent. Our programs are well-suited to those with a passion for outdoors, a positive attitude and a healthy lifestyle.
Looking for someone who is able to work from 8:30am - 3:30pm on weekdays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The inclusion worker will be expected to help the program leader with the following duties/responsibilities as it pertains to creating an inclusive environment for the child that they are working with.
-have equipment or supplies ready for crafts, games or activities
-provide quality, safe game/activity instruction
-clear/concise direction
-explain rules/regulations
-supervise field trips and ensure safe and proper behaviour
-ensure child’s well-being (fully hydrated, sun protection, no bullying)
-follow care plans and communicate their effectiveness with management and the child's family/guardians
-clean-up and put away equipment after the program is done for the day
-provide campers with encouragement and motivation
-sign children out during parent pick up
Qualifications:
-criminal record check
-standard first aid & CPR certified
-previous childcare experience an asset
-previous experience working with children with behaviour difficulties, disabilities and additional support needs
