Job Overview:
We are seeking a Freelance Inspector based in Metro Vancouver, Canada, to perform port inspections. The role involves witnessing and documenting loading, weighing, and sampling processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and detailed reporting. This is a field role that is ideal for professionals with maritime, logistics, or inspection experience.
Location: PKM Canada Marine Terminal, North Vancouver, BC
Key Responsibilities:

Perform Visual Vessel Holds Inspections before loading

Witness and document vessel loading operations
-
Observe and record sampling processes
-
Witness and document weighing procedures, ensuring accurate scale readings

Maintain detailed, hourly records of all operations using provided templates
-
Provide real-time updates via WhatsApp reporting group
-
Prepare detailed inspection reports using provided templates
Optional Tasks:
-
Conduct Draft Surveys (Initial, Final, and Intermediate)

Seal the vessel holds upon completion of loading
Qualifications & Requirements:

Car and a Valid BC driving license
-
You must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings precisely

Ability to work independently in port environments
-
Good communication skills and access to a smartphone for real-time reporting

Availability for on-call assignments based on port schedules

Prior experience in marine cargo inspections, port operations, or quality control is preferred

Knowledge of weighing, sampling, and vessel loading procedures would be a plus
Preferred Qualifications (for Optional Tasks):

Experience conducting Draft Surveys would be a plus

Familiarity with cargo hold inspections and sealing procedures is advantageous
Working schedule:
Not fixed, periodical working shifts on-call: Day-shifts or Night-shifts, depending on the Terminal's working schedule and inspector's availability
