Forklift Operator
Springhill Lumber (Wholesale) Ltd. is looking for a Forklift Operator for immediate hire. This position is from Monday to Friday with some overtime as required.
The successful candidate will receive full company paid benefits after 90-days.
Rate of Pay: Depending on Experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures orders are loaded, unloaded and accurately filled, counted and secured following all safe work requirements;
- Completes paper work accordingly – tallies product changes as needed;
- Maintains a clean, safe and orderly yard and warehouse as directed;
- Perform daily equipment checks (fuel, tires, oil etc.);
- Be professional, courteous, and punctual with a focus on customer service;
- Other duties as required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Ability to do physical labour including lifting, carrying (over 50 Lbs.), bending repeatedly on a daily basis;
- Previous Forklift experience;
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence;
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, demanding working environment.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience and knowledge in this or a related industry is an asset.
- Reliable vehicle is required, as this is a non-bus route.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to dust and extreme changes in temperature and weather when working outside year around.
- Safety boots and safety equipment are required.
- Busy, high volume environment.
