Intro paragraph: Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Finance team. This position will be responsible for capital accounting, treasury management, redevelopment project reporting, financial analysis, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting major capital projects, managing funding and cash flow requirements, and providing financial insights to senior leadership and the Board.
Principal tasks and responsibilities include:
- Lead financial oversight, monitoring, analysis, and forecasting for major capital redevelopment and renovation projects.

Support financial administration, tracking, and reporting requirements for complex redevelopment projects in accordance with Ministry and Infrastructure Ontario frameworks.

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop business cases, support long-range capital planning, and model financial impacts.

Maintain capital accounting records and prepare continuity schedules.

Prepare capital and treasury-related journal entries, accruals, holdbacks, and month-end working papers.

Manage depreciation and amortization processes and related reporting.

Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to support capital commitments and treasury requirements.

Analyze organizational performance and identify funding optimization opportunities through benchmarking and financial analysis.

Coordinate Ministry of Health and Ontario Health reporting submissions, including capital funding and infrastructure-related reporting.

Track, reconcile, and report on capital grants, restricted funding, and externally funded initiatives.

Ensure compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards, Ontario MIS Guidelines, Ministry directives, and internal policies.

Prepare financial reports, presentations, and analysis for senior leadership, executive teams, committees, and the Board of Directors.

Lead year-end audit preparation related to capital assets, deferred contributions, debt, and related disclosures.

Support financial systems enhancements, reporting improvements, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and pre-requisites:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

CPA designation in good standing is required.

3-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, capital accounting, treasury, or healthcare finance.

Experience within an Ontario hospital or public sector healthcare environment is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of healthcare benchmarking tools, funding models, and Ministry reporting requirements.

Experience supporting capital redevelopment projects and large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

Advanced financial modeling and cash flow forecasting skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial systems capabilities.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
