Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will support licensed physiotherapists in the delivery of high-quality patient care within a clinical setting. Responsibilities include assisting with rehabilitation programs, supporting day-to-day clinic operations, and contributing to positive patient outcomes. Previous experience in a hospital or acute care environment is preferred, and knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans and therapy sessions.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Support patients during therapy exercises, ensuring proper technique and safety.
- Monitor patient progress and report any concerns or changes to the supervising physiotherapist.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
- Provide compassionate patient care, including assisting with mobility, positioning, and comfort measures.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a clinical or acute care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on delivering respectful and empathetic patient support.
- Basic organizational skills for managing documentation and assisting with administrative duties.
- Certification or training as a Physiotherapy Assistant or related healthcare qualification is preferred.
