Duties
- Assist bakers with food preparation, including measuring ingredients and mixing dough or batter for cakes, pastries, and bread
- Decorate cakes and baked goods using various techniques such as icing, piping, and fondant to meet customer specifications
- Pack and package baked items efficiently while maintaining presentation quality and food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the bakery workspace, including equipment, utensils, and surfaces in compliance with food handling regulations
- Support the team during busy periods by restocking supplies, organizing display cases, and assisting with customer inquiries
- Follow all food safety protocols to ensure the highest quality standards are upheld at all times
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting colleagues in daily tasks
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, baking, and cake decorating techniques is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Ability to handle food safely according to industry standards and regulations
- Kitchen experience or familiarity with food handling procedures is an advantage
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed
