- We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for farming and the ability to work in various weather conditions. This role is essential for maintaining the productivity of our farm operations, ensuring that crops are properly cared for and that equipment is in good working order.
Duties
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, ensuring all equipment is functioning efficiently.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for various farming tasks, including planting, harvesting, and maintaining crops.
- Assist in irrigating fields and gardens to ensure optimal growth conditions for plants.
- Perform heavy lifting as required(must be able to lift 50 lbs), including moving equipment, supplies, and harvested crops.
- Conduct routine inspections of farm equipment and perform basic mechanical repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to execute daily farming operations effectively.
- Cutting and treating seed potatoes
- Grading potatoes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency on the farm.
Skills
- Proficient in operating heavy equipment and farm machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and gardening practices.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating areas for planting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday.
- Experience using both power tools and hand tools effectively in a farming context.
Requirements:
Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident.
Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and an appreciation for farming
- Experience with farming, or large equipment
