J.D. Barnes Limited is currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated CAD TECHNOLOGIST at various locations inside and outside of the Greater Toronto Area.
The CAD Technologist is responsible for the preparation of CAD work involving detailed files, some survey interpretation, and a variety of reference data.
Job Responsibilities
- Import and process field data
- Prepare Legal and Topographic Surveys
- Provide calculations to field staff
- Interact with field staff to ensure proper configuration of data/sketches and conformity with local By-Laws, Registry Office information and client specifications
- Liaise with project supervisors regarding plan details
- Maintain accurate records, time-sheets, and other files pertaining to the job
Requirements
- Education in Survey, Civil or CAD program, or 2+ years of Land Surveying or CAD experience is preferred
- Background in Legal and Engineering plan preparation is required
- Detail oriented, with ability to read and understand Engineering, Architectural & Structural design drawings
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to learn new field and office surveying techniques and software
- Experience in new construction house siting is an asset
- Experience with Microstation is an asset but not required
Key Job Details
- Expected Compensation Range: $43,500 - $56,000 commensurate with skills, education, and experience
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
