We are an upscale contemporary European restuarant in downtown Toronto serving creative dishes with Asian influences. We are seeking a friendly and efficient Bartender to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service, a strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This role involves preparing and serving drinks, managing POS systems, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Previous restaurant experience and familiarity with Micros POS are highly valued.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and customer preferences
- Use POS systems, including Micros POS, to process orders accurately and efficiently
- Engage with guests to provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and promote specials or menu items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Restock bar supplies as needed and assist in inventory management
- Ensure responsible serving practices by monitoring guest alcohol consumption and adhering to legal requirements
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is needed, preferably at upscale/fine dining restaurant
- Knowledge and skills for a bartender (wines, alcohol and coffee/tea)
- Knowledge of POS systems, specifically Micros POS, is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to manage time effectively during high-volume periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills and a professional appearance
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Demonstrate hospitality expertise, attentiveness, and the ability to create a positive guest experience
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
