Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior / Lead BIM Modeller to lead BIM modelling, coordination, and delivery across complex Rail infrastructure, Transit and Metro projects in a hybrid work environment (Toronto-based).
The role requires strong hands-on BIM expertise along with coordination leadership, model ownership, and the ability to drive multidisciplinary collaboration across design and construction teams. You will ensure high-quality, clash-free, construction-ready BIM deliverables aligned with project standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead BIM modelling and coordination across Rail infrastructure / MEP / civil and structural disciplines for complex building projects
- Develop and maintain federated BIM models across all project phases (design → construction → as-built)
- Execute BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and ensure compliance with ISO 19650 standards
- Perform advanced clash detection and manage resolution workflows using Navisworks / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Ensure model quality, consistency, and adherence to LOD 300–500 requirements
- Support construction teams with coordinated drawings, shop drawings, and BIM-based deliverables
- Manage Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows using ACC or equivalent platforms
- Participate and/or lead BIM coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients
- Mentor junior BIM modelers and provide technical guidance on standards and workflows
- Support quantity take-offs, sequencing inputs (4D/5D where applicable), and constructability coordination
- Ensure timely delivery of coordinated models aligned with project milestones and client expectations
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7–10+ years of BIM experience in Rail infrastructure, Transit, Metro, or building projects
- Strong hands-on experience in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC / BIM 360)
- Proven experience in clash detection, coordination, and federated model management
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and BIM standards compliance
- Experience delivering LOD 300–500 BIM models and construction-ready documentation
- Exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects (rail, metro, transit, healthcare, or utilities preferred)
- Ability to lead coordination meetings and manage multidisciplinary stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in rail / metro / transit / tunnelling / complex infrastructure projects
- Exposure to 4D / 5D BIM workflows (schedule and cost integration)
- Dynamo / automation or BIM scripting experience is an asset
- Experience working in multi-consultant, multi-country project environments
- Prior experience mentoring or leading BIM teams
