We’re always on the lookout for the best and brightest to join our expanding company. We are currently searching for an Assistant Personal Training Manager (APTM), at our Waterloo location . Are you excited to learn more?

Reporting directly to the Personal Training Manager the Assistant PTM is an experienced, self-motivated and sales-oriented fitness professional who is responsible for mentoring a team of Personal Trainers while assisting the Personal Training Manager deliver upon the member experience, driving results, operational efficiencies, and financial performance.

What can you expect in this role? Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on. We can’t wait to hear what else you want to contribute to the role!

  • Delivers up to 20 Personal training sessions per week
  • Responsible for conducting Fitness Assessments and Demos to meet assigned sales goals per month
  • Accountable for ensuring that new Club members are booked in for initial Personal Training consultations in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Personal Training presentations and fitness assessments are structured and standardized, consistent with corporate standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that training methods and techniques conform to standardized Club training practices and training plans are tailored to reflect the personal goals, limitations and health concerns of each Personal Training client.
  • Monitors Personal Training sales performance against corporate and club objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Personal Trainers maintain and upgrade their certifications.
  • Ensures that Personal Training performance metrics are communicated to the PT team and solicits continuous improvement ideas.
  • Ensures consistent adherence to all policies and procedures and fosters a culture that encourages proactivity and accountability.

What type of experience should you have? These are only some of the things we’d like you to bring to the table. There will be more, but we can discuss those in person.

  • A University degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred. Related degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, and Physical Education an asset.
  • 1 to 2 years of leadership and people management experience including proven success in leading, coaching and motivating individuals and teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • 1 to 2 years related Personal Training sales experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving and/or exceeding sales goals.
  • 5 plus years of Personal Training experience is required.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of injuries, disease, nutrition and any conditions that may affect one’s ability to perform exercise is required.
  • Current Personal Training Certification (CPT) is required. Successful completion of additional health and nutrition certification programs an asset.
  • Current CPR & First Aid are required prior to start date and must be maintained through employment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
