We are seeking a Fit & spec technician/patternmaker to join a leading wholesaler based in Montreal!
Responsibilities:
- Draft and drape patterns and utilize provided specifications to develop new product silhouettes;
- Create patterns on the computer according to the designer's specifications; optional
- Realize tech packs by creating and modifying specification sheets, updating construction details, and generating fit comment sheets;
- Measure and record accurate garment specifications on spec sheets;
- Complete pattern gradation using computer software;
- Inspect samples before fitting sessions and make necessary corrections afterward;
- Collaborate with Design team in fit sessions with live models or mannequins to achieve the desired aesthetic;
- Communicate with overseas factories to provide feedback on quality, workmanship, and sewing construction using illustrated files;
- Follow up on all sample requests with factories;
- Organize and send packages to suppliers, including follow-up emails with detailed tracking information;
- Supply garment information for lists required by large accounts;
- Oversee the complete production process.
Requirements:
- College Degree in Fashion Design
- 5+ years of experience in the apparel industry;
- Knowledge of measurement units in fraction and decimal;
- Knowledge of construction methods and excellent understanding of different sewing and finishing techniques;
- Knowledge of PAD software and Adobe Illustrator; optional
- Strong listening, written and oral communication skills;
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
