We are currently recruiting for Personal Support Workers to assist our female client with Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) in all activities of daily living.
Our client enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, K-dramas, K-pop, and sports, specifically F1 and hockey.
Start Date:
- July 1 (possibility of part-time hours for training before scheduled start date)
Location:
- Richmond (Near Imperial Landing Park)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
- 9 AM to 4 PM (4-5 days per week, to be discussed with the employer)
Compensation:
- Probationary Period Wage (3 months): $23 per hour
- After Probation: $24 per hour
- Dental/Medical Benefits included after probationary period
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Assistance with all activities of daily living, including peri care, changing of diaper, bathing, dressing, use of a peg tube feed
- Assistance with oral care
- Assisting with ventilator care, trachea care, suctioning
- Assist with transfers through the use of Hoyer lift and sling transfers
Required Qualifications:
- Clear and patient communicator
- Previous caregiving experience an asset
- Previous experience in trachea care and ventilator course an asset
- May be asked with potentially attending a Provincial Respiratory Outreach Program (PROP) course for complex care
- Physically fit to support clients with the use of slings and lifts
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with a cat
