Clearance Central AI Solutions Inc. is a Moncton-based AI startup building retail optimization software for Canadian small and medium-sized retailers. We are seeking a part-time Software Developer to join our growing technical team.
This role focuses on the data and integration layer of our platform — working on real-time output rendering from our machine learning recommendation engine, and building reliable state management under variable latency and load conditions. This is hands-on backend/integration development work.
Key duties:
- Develop and maintain integration logic between our ML recommendation engine and application layer
- Build and troubleshoot state management for real-time data under variable network/load conditions
- Write and maintain automated tests for new functionality
- Document technical decisions and contribute to code review
- Collaborate with the technical/R&D lead on solving open technical problems in the platform's data pipeline
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in software development, computer science, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience with backend development, API integration, or real-time data handling
- Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and React
- Comfortable working independently in a small-team startup environment
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Reporting structure: Day-to-day coordination with the Operations Lead; technical direction from the CEO.
Hours: 16 hours/week, hybrid (some on-site time at our Moncton office, some remote)
Pay: $28.00-$29.00 per hour
