Additional Information:
Duties include, supporting FVSD Speech and Language Pathologists throughout the school division in the following areas:
- Hearing screening
- Supporting implementation of Alternative and Augmentative Communication systems (AAC) including Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display (PODD)
- Supporting students with significant fluency concerns (stuttering)
- Supporting comprehensive literacy intervention programs with our students who have complex communication needs.
- Supporting SLP communication recommendations for students with multidisciplinary needs
- Supporting oral language development in primary classrooms
- Other duties as needs arise
Preferred Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Diploma
- Post secondary education in related field or experience working with SLPs
- Experience working with students in a school setting
- An ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents in a confidential manner
- Evidence of successfully passing the Police-Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
- Evidence of successfully passing the Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (IRC) if you have/had children
Start Date: September 2, 2026
End Date: June 11, 2027
Hours per week: 35 hours per week
These positions require travel to various schools within the Division. One role is primarily based in the La Crete area, while the other is focused mainly in the High Level region. The position La Crete position is a 1 year term.
