Equipment Sales Representative
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Equipment Sales Representative to support our continued growth throughout Ottawa and the surrounding area.
This role is ideal for an energetic individual who enjoys building relationships, working independently, and helping customers find the right equipment solutions for their operations. You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, conducting equipment demonstrations, and driving sales growth within your assigned territory.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, customer-focused, and highly organized, with a passion for agriculture, construction, and equipment sales. You will work closely with our Parts and Service departments to deliver outstanding customer support and ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
Grow New Business Opportunities
- Prospect and develop new customer relationships within the assigned territory
- Identify sales opportunities through networking, referrals, and market research
- Expand Elliott Farm Equipment's presence throughout Ottawa and surrounding areas
Build Strong Customer Relationships
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions
- Deliver exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale
- Build long-term partnerships that lead to repeat business
Demonstrate and Sell Equipment
- Conduct equipment demonstrations at customer locations and events
- Prepare quotations and proposals
- Negotiate and close equipment sales
- Follow up on all sales opportunities in a timely manner
Manage Sales Performance
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales leads, and opportunities
- Track sales activity and territory performance
- Understand margins, profitability, and market trends
- Achieve and exceed established sales goals
Support Internal Operations
- Collaborate with Parts and Service departments to support customers
- Assist with equipment deliveries and customer onboarding when required
- Ensure customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally
Represent Elliott Farm Equipment
- Attend local events, trade shows, manufacturer training sessions, and community events
- Promote the company's products, services, and values
- Maintain a professional company image at all times
What We’re Looking For
· Previous experience in agricultural, construction, equipment, or related sales
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills
· Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management abilities
· Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
· Knowledge of agricultural and/or construction equipment is preferred
· Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, email, social media, and CRM systems
· Results-driven with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and sales growth

Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Valid Class G driver's license with a clean driving record
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Post-secondary education in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field considered an asset
· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in agricultural, construction, heavy equipment, or related sales preferred
· Knowledge of agricultural, construction, or compact equipment operation preferred
· Strong negotiation and sales skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to travel throughout the assigned sales territory
· Bilingual English/French considered an asset
· Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, email, and social media platforms
Working Environment:
· Combination of office, customer site visits, and field-based work
· Frequent travel throughout Ottawa and surrounding areas
· Regular interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
· Participation in trade shows, community events, and manufacturer training programs
· Occasional evening or weekend work required for events and customer support
Pay: $30,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
