Evening Charge Nurse (RPN) 5TH Floor memory unit – Full-Time

Sts. Peter and Paul Residence is seeking a professional, compassionate, and dependable Night Charge Nurse (RPN) to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for providing clinical leadership during the night shift and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality resident care.
The successful candidate will be accountable for planning, coordinating, delegating, and supervising care provided by Personal Support Workers (PSWs), while maintaining compliance with the standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario and applicable Ministry of Health requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership during the night shift
- Assess resident needs and ensure appropriate care is delivered
- Delegate and supervise care provided by PSWs
- Ensure documentation and resident care practices meet professional and regulatory standards
- Respond appropriately to resident changes in condition and emergencies
- Act as the Acting Fire Warden after hours and on weekends
- Implement the Home’s Fire Plan in the event of an emergency
- Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents and staff
- Assist PSW staff with care while on shift.
Qualifications:
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- RPN designation
- Minimum 1 year of experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting
- Ability to work independently and supervise a team of up to 3 PSWs
- Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills
- Current CPR certification preferred
