Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in a dynamic learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional skills, experience with classroom management, and a commitment to fostering curiosity in science. This role involves designing engaging lessons, utilizing various educational tools, and supporting students' academic growth. Experience with LMS platforms, special education, and working with students with disabilities is highly valued. The teacher will play a vital role in preparing students for future academic pursuits and careers in STEM fields.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive science lessons aligned with curriculum standards for high school students.
- Utilize instructional design principles to create engaging, interactive, and effective lesson plans.
- Incorporate technology and LMS tools to enhance student learning experiences.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring special education support or working with individuals with disabilities.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects; provide timely feedback to support academic improvement.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Support tutoring sessions and provide additional assistance to students needing extra help in science, math, or writing skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science Education or related field; valid teaching certification for high school level.
- Experience working with children in classroom settings; prior experience with special education or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Proficiency with LMS platforms for lesson planning and student assessment management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage students and collaborate with colleagues and parents.
- Knowledge of instructional design techniques tailored for diverse learners.
- Background in teaching science subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, or earth sciences; familiarity with math integration is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills for creating lesson materials, assessments, and reports.
- Experience working with early childhood education or tutoring younger students is advantageous but not required.
