Job Description
Go Beyond Academy is a premier, well-rounded education centre located in Richmond Hill. We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and adaptable Mathematics Instructor to join our team for our Summer Programs and continue into the 2026–2027 academic school year.
The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching Mathematics from Grades 7–12, with a strong emphasis on senior high school courses. Expertise in Grade 11 and 12 Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and Data Management is highly valued.
This position offers an immediate start with flexible hours, transitioning into a daytime schedule during July and August and continuing with afternoon and weekend hours beginning in September.
Key Responsibilities
Mathematics Instruction: Deliver clear, engaging, and curriculum-aligned Mathematics lessons for students in Grades 7–12.
Senior-Level Specialization: Provide expert instruction in Grade 11 and 12 Mathematics, including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and Data Management.
Student Support: Explain complex mathematical concepts clearly, strengthen students’ problem-solving skills, and prepare students for tests, examinations, and future coursework.
Adaptability: Adjust teaching strategies and lesson pacing to accommodate different learning styles, academic levels, and student goals.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, organized, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Progress Monitoring: Track student performance, identify areas requiring improvement, and provide regular, constructive feedback.
Parent Communication: Build strong and proactive relationships with parents by providing updates on student progress, participation, and areas for continued development.
Qualifications
Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge and mastery of the Ontario Mathematics curriculum for Grades 7–12.
Senior Mathematics Proficiency: Candidates should be confident teaching multiple senior-level courses, particularly:
- Grade 11 Functions
- Grade 11 Functions and Applications
- Grade 12 Advanced Functions
- Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors
- Grade 12 Mathematics of Data Management
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Ontario Certified Teachers, teacher candidates, and current university students or recent graduates in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Education, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
Experience: Previous classroom teaching, tutoring, teaching-assistant, or youth leadership experience is preferred.
Core Skills: Excellent mathematical reasoning, communication, reliability, organization, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
Work Schedule and Commitment
This is a continuous, year-round opportunity with seasonal scheduling:
June — Immediate Start:
Part-time afternoon and weekend hours.
July and August — Summer Programs:
Full-time or part-time daytime shifts, Monday to Friday.
September and Beyond:
Ongoing part-time afternoon, evening, and weekend hours.
Applicants who are available to continue teaching throughout the 2026–2027 academic school year will be given preference.
