OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Wealth Planning Quality Analyst with a strong background in financial planning, quality assurance, and compliance oversight within wealth management environments. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners — including wealth planners, quality teams, and support functions — to ensure completed financial plans meet established quality standards, regulatory expectations, and internal best practices.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical professional who thrives in structured review environments and is comfortable evaluating complex financial planning documentation with accuracy, consistency, and objectivity.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days in office: Mondays & Thursdays)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Hours: 9 AM–5 PM EST
Pay: T4: $ 37 / IC $42
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review completed financial plans against predefined quality standards, controls, and assessment criteria.
- Assess financial plans for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and adherence to sound financial planning principles.
- Identify errors, gaps, risks, or areas for improvement and document findings clearly and consistently.
- Ensure financial plans align with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and quality benchmarks.
- Track and report quality review outcomes, recurring issues, and trends to support continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate with wealth planning teams and internal stakeholders to clarify review expectations and support quality objectives.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to planners to support corrected plans and re-presentation to clients where required.
- Support a culture of quality, accountability, and attention to detail across the financial planning process.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to quality reviews and governance activities.
- Manage multiple plan reviews while meeting established turnaround timelines and service expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, wealth management, or financial plan quality review environments.
- Proven experience supporting or reviewing financial plans within advisory, technical planning, or compliance-focused roles.
- Financial planning designation such as PFP® or QAFP® required.
- Strong understanding of core financial planning concepts including retirement planning, cash flow analysis, investments, insurance, estate planning, and tax considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex financial information accurately and objectively against predetermined standards.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and judgement skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, professional feedback.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive, team-based environment while maintaining ownership of assigned reviews.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred
- Experience within wealth management, private banking, or financial advisory environments.
- Exposure to compliance, governance, or quality assurance functions related to financial planning.
- Experience with financial planning software and documentation review processes.
- Bilingual French language skills considered an asset.
- Experience working in large enterprise or regulated financial institutions.
EDUCATION
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Financial planning designation (PFP® or QAFP®) required.
