Who we are
The Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa in Victoria is a luxurious 5-star hotel with 91 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and lounge area, a 300-person ballroom, and conference facilities. The hotel is part of the Westin brand, which falls under the Marriott umbrella. The hotel also features a state-of-the-art spa and serenity pool.
About the position
We are currently in search of an experienced bartender who possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, above-average customer service skills, and has the ability to adhere to brand standards. Guest Service
- Provide friendly, professional, and engaging service to all guests
- Take beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently
- Make recommendations based on guest preferences and menu knowledge
- Ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with Serving It Right certification standards
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner
Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to standard recipes
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all beverages
- Ensure proper portion control and minimize waste
- Assist in developing seasonal cocktails or beverage features (if applicable)
Bar Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times
- Set up and restock bar inventory, including liquor, garnishes, glassware, and supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages
- Process payments accurately using POS systems (e.g., Lightspeed)
- Follow all cash handling and billing procedures
What you need
At least 3 years experience with mixology.
Hotel lounge/bar experience.
Experienced in menu or beverage program development.
Experienced with monthly inventory.
Experienced in closing a lounge/bar unsupervised.
Excellent guest service interpersonal skills.
Serving it Right Certified.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour
