Are you an experienced CNC Machinist with strong lathe experience and the ability to program and set up CNC equipment Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join their machine shop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on machining, takes pride in producing quality work, and is comfortable working with CNC equipment from programming and setup through to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes and other CNC machining equipment safely and efficiently
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery to produce parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications
- Write, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code
- Use Mastercam to create and modify CNC programs
- Monitor machining processes and adjust as required to maintain quality and accuracy
- Inspect completed parts using appropriate measuring tools and equipment
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with other members of the machine shop and production team
- Support other shop-related tasks as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role
- Strong experience operating CNC lathes and milling equipment
- Proficiency with G-code and CNC programming
- Experience using Mastercam
- Ability to program CNC jobs independently
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of tooling, cutting speeds, feeds, and machining processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical and CNC training, with relevant hands-on machining experience
- Experience operating CNC lathes and mills
- Familiarity with G-codes and CNC programming
- Experience creating, editing, and troubleshooting CNC programs
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to approximately 50 lbs
- Experience working with Haas CNC equipment considered an asset
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- First Aid certification is considered an asset
