Position Summary:
As a Delivery Driver/ Production Worker will be responsible to ensure Delivery products to customers and the fabrication of rebar. This is a hands-on role that requires us to work in a team with our production cage machine team and operations as business needs. Other responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles to deliver rebar and other related products.
- Perform per-trip inspection of vehicle.
- Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods.
- Communicate with the Operations Coordinator and Rebar Production Supervisor with schedule shipping and customer needs.
- Loading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools
- Performance period inspections before during and after delivery.
- Operate and attend to manual and automated equipment
- Operate overhead cranes to move, load and offload materials.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned work areas.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Complete Housekeeping duties as required.
- Provide quality and customer focused workmanship.
- Comply with all safety procedures including participating in safety meetings, inspections, maintenance logs, and fire drills.
What You’ll Need:
- Require a positive and customer focus attitude.
- Hold a valid 3A driver's license, and produce a drivers abstract.
- Hold a valid 1A driver's license would be considered an asset.
- Ability to climb up and down trailers, truck desks.
- Ability to work in a fast paced & stressful environment while maintaining a positive and calm demeanor.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Overhead crane operator experience is an asset.
- Ability to operate a steel band saw and paint sprayer.
- CSA approved Steel Toed Work Boots.
- Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently
- Good understanding of customer service for both internal and external customers
