Torngat Metals is seeking a qualified Wildlife Monitor starting June 15th to support field activities at the Strange Lake project site. Reporting to the Camp Supervisor and working closely with field teams and local communities, this role is responsible for supporting environmental monitoring, wildlife protection, and the integration of Indigenous knowledge into field operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring responsible and respectful operations on the land.

What You’ll Do:

Observe, document, and report wildlife activity in camp and exploration areas, following established wildlife monitoring protocols around camp sites.

Maintain a proactive presence to help prevent interactions between wildlife and operations.

Advise field teams on safe behaviours in the presence of wildlife.

Contribute to the implementation of environmental mitigation measures.

Support the integration of traditional knowledge into monitoring practices.

Produce daily observation reports and promptly report any risk situations in real time.

Work in close collaboration with the Environment and Health & Safety teams.

Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
What We’re Looking For:

Experience or strong interest in wildlife, land-based work, and northern environments
-
Knowledge of the local territory and/or traditional practices (strong asset)

Good judgment, autonomy, and strong sense of responsibility

Ability to work in remote locations and variable weather conditions

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Physical ability to work outdoors for extended periods
