Job Description:
Leaps & Bounds Early Learning Centre is seeking a positive and energetic Early Childhood Educator (Level 3) who is compassionate, resilient, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Accountabilities for this role include but are not limited to planning and implementing holistic programming, nurturing strong relationships with children, colleagues and families, performing administrative, meal preparation and cleaning duties, and is ultimately committed to ensuring the care, safety, development and well-being of our children.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading and delivering our school-readiness Preschool program and ensuring learning goals and milestones are achieved for registered children.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Education, Social Services or formal Early Childhood Education from a recognized post-secondary institution in North America
- Early Childhood Educator Level 3 certification
- First Aid certification
- Police Security Clearance
- Previous experience in child care, teaching, or other related fields
- Passionate about working with children
- Ability to build rapport with children, parents/guardians, other staff and stakeholders
- Positive and patient demeanour
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in drafting and completing program plans, documentation and reports
- Strong leadership skills; confident guiding children through programming and activities
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement child-care programming that supports and promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by guiding children in their learning and development using a variety of appropriate early-learning mediums, methods and approaches
- Provide opportunities for children to express their emotions and creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, physical activity and social interactions
- Guide and assist children in the ability to gain independence in everyday tasks, social etiquette, cooperation and personal care
- Observe children in their play to mazimize development and be aware of signs of potential learning or behavioral challenges
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or challenges with colleages and families as required
- Document and prepare reports for programming, observations, and other administrative requirements
- Establish and maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with co-workers, community service providers families and all other stakeholders in the early learning environment
- Maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of all children
- Possess strong knowledge and understanding early learning principles and licensing regulations
- Be compassionate, patient and understanding, demonstrating strong ethics and morals
