Duties
- Design and implement engaging Montessori-based activities tailored to early childhood development
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and classroom activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and classroom strategies
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods
- Incorporate special education techniques when working with children with disabilities or special needs
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Maintain organized classroom materials and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French are highly desirable
- Strong childcare experience with a focus on early childhood education principles
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with children with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Classroom management skills combined with leadership qualities to guide young learners confidently
- Organizational skills for lesson planning, record keeping, and maintaining an efficient classroom environment
- Computer literacy including basic operation of educational software and documentation tools
- Time management abilities to balance multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Writing skills for documentation, reports, and communication purposes
