Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Litigation Clerk/Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support Lawyers in managing litigation cases through comprehensive research, document preparation, and case management. This role requires strong administrative skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth progression of legal proceedings and maintaining accurate case files.
Duties
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Manage case files by organizing documents, maintaining electronic and physical filing systems, and ensuring all case materials are up-to-date.
- Assist with discovery processes by preparing and organizing documents for production, reviewing responses, and tracking deadlines.
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent information for litigation cases.
- Docketing accurately to support case management systems and maintain detailed records of case activities.
- Coordinate with Lawyers on project management tasks to ensure timely progression of litigation activities.
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, answering phones with professional etiquette, and maintaining effective communication with clients and court personnel.
Requirements
- Licensed Paralegal in good standing and/or Law Clerk diploma.
- 5 years work experience.
- Understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure, Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent proofreading, writing skills, and legal drafting abilities to produce clear and precise documents.
- Experience with project management practices to coordinate various aspects of litigation efficiently.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform legal research effectively and accurately interpret complex information.
- Administrative experience demonstrating attention to detail, organizational skills, and reliability in a professional setting.
Pay: $51,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
