The Opportunity
RVS invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Teacher Psychologist or a continuing, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Psychologist position commencing August 25, 2026.
The successful candidate will provide evidence-based services to referred students throughout Rocky View Schools (RVS) that promote psychological health and wellness, including psychoeducation, consultation, coaching, and assessment through a multitiered system of service delivery. Psychologists collaborate with school teams and families with the shared goal of creating relationships and environments where all students can access meaningful and relevant learning experiences.
The successful candidate must have access to reliable transportation as travel between RVS sites is required.
Registered Psychologist will be considered an asset for this position.
Responsibilities

Conducts assessment of students using various data including social emotional, behavioural, and psychological assessments to identify student strengths and needs and to support the development of effective services and programs

Interprets assessment findings and collaboratively develops programming

Formulates and facilitates the provision of multi-tiered programming suited to student educational, behavioural, social-emotional, and/or mental health needs

Utilizes knowledge of school practices to promote learning and mental health

Advocates for individual/group/school services based on evidence-based strategies to promote behavioural, social-emotional functioning, and mental health

Maintains records, prepares summaries and reports as required

Conducts, arranges, or participates in in-service training through workshops, staff meeting presentations, provision of printed materials, courses, discussions, general presentations, etc.

Applies knowledge of principles related to resilience and risk factors to support multi-tiered prevention and strategies for effective crisis management

Maintains awareness of current developments and trends in the field

Researches and builds working relationships with existing community resources and makes referrals as necessary

Liaises with support services and agencies and coordinates wrap-around services as required

Provides consultative services to all RVS staff and stakeholders including teachers, administrators, and parents in matters related to appropriate programming needs

Demonstrates and models a genuine appreciation for, and understanding of, protocol, discretion, and professionalism in RVS

Embraces and models the use of contemporary and emerging technologies within RVS
Education/Experience (Teacher Psychologist)

Master's degree in Educational Psychology
- Certification as a Psychologist in Alberta
- 3 or more years experience
- Possess, or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and provide Human Resources with an original of their Teacher Qualifications Service (TQS) document.

Education/Experience (Psychologist)
- Master's degree in Educational Psychology

Current registration, in good standing, with the College of Alberta Psychologists including a valid permit to practice

Minimum 2 years' experience working with multiple complex needs children

Previous experience within a school division and/or Student Information Records Systems is considered an asset

Proven ability to establish a rapport with children/youth, families, and other professional staff

Ability to successfully work in a multi-disciplinary team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision

Knowledge of records management principles including Privacy Legislation

Strong consultation, coaching, and facilitation skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate and convey highly technical/medical information to parents/guardians and staff

Strong presentation and instructional skills with the ability to present a wide range of stakeholders

Emotional resilience and ability to work in a challenging environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications

Hourly Rate: (Psychologist) : $60.59-$76.83 per hour effective August 23, 2026, this position will have a 3% wage increase per the terms of employment
