The Logistics Coordinator – Healthcare is responsible for managing urgent and ad hoc shipment requests from customers, across the asset-based network, ensuring compliant, temperature-controlled and time-critical delivery of shipments to healthcare facilities. The role coordinates both domestic and cross-border shipments and serves as the central point of coordination for non-standard and priority transportation requirements. In addition to execution, this role is accountable for identifying and growing revenue opportunities from ad hoc and dedicated temperature-controlled transportation services.
Location
Mississauga, Ontario. Hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of four (4) days per week in the office.
Compensation
Annual salary range: $70,000–$85,000, plus bonus eligibility.
Compensation consists of a combination of base salary and variable sales incentive compensation. The variable compensation component is tied to revenue growth from ad hoc and dedicated temperature-controlled transportation services and overall business performance.
Education Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or a related discipline.
-Has or is working towards a Certified Canadian Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive, triage, prioritize, and manage urgent and non-routine shipment requests from healthcare customers.
· Act as the primary point of contact from shipment request through final delivery.
· Coordinate domestic and cross-border transportation solutions including dedicated, same-day, LTL, TL, and air services based on customer requirements.
· Schedule pickups and deliveries using internal fleet resources, owner operators and external transportation partners.
· Ensure all cross-border documentation, customs requirements, and shipment processes are properly coordinated.
· Monitor shipments in real time, communicate status updates, and proactively resolve service issues or delays.
· Ensure compliance with GMP / GDP, Health Canada requirements, company SOPs, and chain-of-custody standards.
· Collaborate closely with Operations, Dispatch, Control Tower, Customer Service, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure successful execution.
· Identify and capture revenue opportunities related to ad hoc and dedicated temperature-controlled transportation services.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or a related discipline.
· 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare logistics, transportation, dispatch, or logistics coordination role.
· Experience coordinating truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments within an asset-based carrier environment.
· Required experience coordinating domestic and cross-border transportation shipments, including customs and border-crossing processes.
· Experience in healthcare logistics or temperature-controlled supply chains.
· Strong understanding of transportation operations, routing, dispatch, and shipment lifecycle management.
· Knowledge of GMP / GDP requirements and regulated healthcare supply chains is considered an asset.
· Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving capabilities.
· Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual (English and French)
