Location: Mahogany , SE
We’re seeking a compassionate and reliable Day Home Educator to join our Montessori-inspired day home, caring for up to 6 children aged 18 months to 5 years. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a nurturing, structured, and child-led learning environment.
About the Role:
- Start Date: July 1, 2026
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Wage: $20/hour + wage top-up based on current certification level
- Live-in Option: Possibility to live in the home for a small rent (optional)
Children:
- Up to 6 children, ages 18 months to 5 years
- Montessori-based setup with a focus on independence, respect, and hands-on learning
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and serving homemade meals and snacks
- Diaper changes and basic hygiene support
- Leading and supporting Montessori-style learning activities
- Following the daily program plan, including structured and free play
- Taking children on outdoor walks and activities (weather permitting)
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and nurturing environment
- Communicating openly with parents and team members
Requirements:
- Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification (minimum)
- Police Check (within the last 6 months)
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Food Safety Certificate (Free basic version from Alberta Health Services is accepted)
Assets (Not Required):
- Experience or training in the Montessori method
- Ability to speak an additional language (Spanish or French is a bonus)
- Previous experience in a day home, daycare, or preschool setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
