Independent Contractor Opportunity
Soap & Suds is seeking dependable Independent Residential Cleaning Contractors to provide residential and commercial cleaning services throughout Kingston and the surrounding area.
This opportunity is offered exclusively through an Independent Contractor Service Agreement and is not an offer of employment.
To Be Considered, Applicants Must:
✔ Live in Kingston or the surrounding area
✔ Be legally authorized to work as an independent contractor in Canada
✔ Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit that permits self-employment/independent contracting (where applicable)
✔ Hold a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence
✔ Have a reliable, insured personal vehicle available for every service day
✔ Be able to travel independently between multiple client locations
✔ Be bondable and able to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check
✔ Have a smartphone with reliable internet access

Compensation StructurePaid Onboarding, Orientation & Shadowing
Contractors participate in a paid onboarding, orientation and shadowing period designed to introduce Soap & Suds service standards, client expectations, documentation requirements, health and safety practices, and administrative procedures.
The duration of the onboarding period varies depending on previous experience, demonstrated competency and contractor readiness.
Orientation Rate: $18.00 per hour
Active Service Assignments
Following completion of onboarding, contractors may begin accepting available service assignments under their Independent Contractor Service Agreement.
Contract pricing begins at the equivalent of approximately $24.00 per hour, based on completed service assignments and agreed contract pricing.
Advanced Contract Pricing
Experienced contractors may qualify for contract pricing equivalent to up to approximately $33.00 per hour.
Contract pricing may be reviewed periodically based on:
- Reliability
- Quality of service
- Client satisfaction and retention
- Availability
- Efficiency
- Specialized services provided
- Overall business relationship
Compensation is based on completed contracted service assignments. Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes, CPP contributions, insurance, licensing (where applicable), statutory remittances and business expenses.
Service Opportunities
Service opportunities are generally available Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Additional service opportunities may become available outside these hours.
Contractors establish their own availability and remain free to accept or decline individual service assignments.
Contractors are free to provide services to other clients and businesses and are not required to work exclusively for Soap & Suds.
Contractors may engage qualified assistants or subcontractors at their own discretion, provided all individuals meet Soap & Suds client service standards, insurance requirements and applicable legal obligations.
Service Area
Applicants must reside in Kingston or the surrounding area.
Services are provided at a variety of residential and commercial locations throughout Kingston and neighbouring communities.
Minimum Contractor Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence
- Reliable insured personal vehicle (mandatory)
- Public transit, ride sharing, walking or relying on others for transportation is not suitable for this opportunity. Applicants without daily access to a personal vehicle will not be considered.
- Applicants must already be legally authorized to perform independent contractor services in Canada.
- Soap & Suds does not sponsor work permits or immigration applications.

Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)
- Previous residential or commercial cleaning experience is considered an asset
- Paid onboarding, orientation and shadowing are provided

Additional InformationService Agreement
Initial Independent Contractor Service Agreement: 12 months
Ongoing renewal opportunities may be available by mutual agreement.
Service opportunities generally range between the equivalent of approximately 25–50 hours per week, depending on contractor availability, client demand and accepted service assignments.
No minimum volume of work is guaranteed.
Tips may be received directly from clients.
Optional access to third-party contractor benefit programs may be available. These programs are voluntary, independent of Soap & Suds, and available entirely at the contractor’s expense. Soap & Suds does not provide employee benefit plans.
