We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented and experienced Optometric Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
- Gather patient history and perform preliminary tests as directed.
- Manage medical records efficiently, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing inquiries and concerns regarding eye health.
- Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, dealing with insurance company benefits and managing patient flow.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and optical products available.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Facilitate sales of optical products, including glasses and contact lenses.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a optical office and retail sales environment is required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to optometry is highly desirable.
- Experience with IFILE Optical Software is an asset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- A background in optical sales or customer service is an asset.
